Hello and Welcome
As this is my first post I would like to say a big welcome to my viewers. I will be posting pictures of my work on here along with new events and news about my brand Chelsie Alice. I will also be posting simple tips for crafting techniques you can try at home .
For those of you who haven't heard of me , I am currently studying at Nottingham Trent University and ventured into making Handmade jointed bears in Autumn 2011. Chelsie Alice was founded in April 2012. I am interested in bringing the skills of traditional british craftsmanship back to life and so use traditional crafting techniques where ever possible.

All my bears are made completely by hand, every stitch can have an impact on the bears overall appearance which is what gives them their character. The bears are jointed using traditional cotter pins and are weighted using steel shots. The mohair is often distressed to give them a more vintage/ traditional look.
My Jewellery is made by hand using resin, photographic imagery, fabrics and vintage typewriter inspired letters. Each piece is then sanded down by hand and buffed to give a shiny enamel-like surface.
All the cards I make at the moment are illustrated and sewn by hand . My illustrations take inspiration from British Heritage in particular woodland animals such as the stag.
